Graphic Design
Warning: the following is graphic (design)
One my strongest skills as an independent filmmaker is my ability to graphic design. Over the years, in promoting my own projects I’ve created social media marketing assets, promotional posters, and motion graphics to help visualize podcasts, music, and pitches.
In high school, I became obsessed with Photoshop and was certified before I graduated. In my senior year, I expanded my expertise to Dreamweaver and InDesign. I competed and placed 3rd in Business Professionals of America student collaborative web design competition, for my graphic work on Roaming Bubble, our social media site submission. The same year, I laid out the school literary magazine with InDesign and Photoshop, shaping short stories and poems into recognizable images through creative spacing within paragraphs.
In college, I pivoted my focus to filmmaking, utilizing every program under the Adobe banner. Premiere Pro and After Effects helped add movement to my graphics and SketchUp, Blender, and Maya help me sculpt 3D worlds way beyond my budget.
I’ve added all these skills to my repertoire to increase the production value of my own stories, but I’m now offering these skills to marketing world to help get audiences to engage with media in new ways.
